Spicer Adventist University is established by the Government of Maharashtra vide Maharashtra Act No. XIV of 2014 (also called as the Spicer Adventist University Act, 2014).
The NATIONAL ASSESSMENT AND ACCREDITATION COUNCIL (NAAC) conducts assessment and accreditation of Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) such as colleges, universities or other recognised institutions to derive an understanding of the ‘Quality Status’ of the institution.

It is a member of the Adventist Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges and Universities (AAA) which is instituted by the Board of Regents of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Academic credits from Spicer Adventist University are therefore accepted by any member institution of AAA. This automatically embraces several universities and colleges worldwide.
