Ngarorso Phazang (Paul Bhaggien, Religious Studies) DIMINISHED VIEW OF GODS OMNISCIENCE AND SOVEREIGNTY IN THE WORLD OF OPEN THEISM. Abstract
Among the Evangelical Christian world, one of the present efforts put forth tosolve the Divine foreknowledge-freewill crisis is that of Open Theists, a number ofscholars and theologians who present their views by modifying the traditionaldoctrines of Gods omniscience and sovereignty, ignoring the numerous Scripturalreferences regarding the two attributes of God which represents His perfection andcompleteness. They provide reasons and evidences that the issue can be solved byshowing God does not know the future choices and actions of mankind. In their efforts to retain a high regard of man’s freedom by providing theirview as an alternate understanding of Gods foreknowledge, the result of their effortsends up denying the full and complete Divine omniscience and sovereignty of God asseen in the Scripture, which in turn commits a violation of the doctrine of infallibilityof the scripture and various other fundamental doctrines of the church.
